About The Book:

If Only We
They say all it takes is one wrong move and you lose the game. One false step and you’re trapped. One slip-up in your choice of words and you ruin a friendship forever. That is what they say. They say I lost.

I do not believe them.

At the end of the summer after graduation, Adrienne wonders what happened to cause her life to be in ruins. She isn’t getting along with her mom, her stepsister isn’t talking to her, and, to top it off, the boy she’s been in love with doesn’t want anything to do with her. She believes the turning point was a choice she made at graduation. When she wakes up the next day, she has been transported back three months to that moment, the one where everything started to fall apart.

Adrienne realizes she has been given a second chance--and this time she doesn’t want to mess anything up. Reliving the entire summer, though, turns out to be a lot harder than she thought. As the same days and weeks go by, she starts to see how simple decisions can make a huge impact on the world around her. Despite knowing some of what lies ahead, there are some things she didn’t anticipate. She thought she knew what mistake led her to where she ended up the first time. She was wrong.

And by the time summer is over, she discovers what was really at stake.

Blog Tour/Book Blitz/Giveaway:

I am in the process of putting together a blog tour/book blitz/giveaway type thing for release week for If Only We. If you would be interested, there is a section on the form you can fill out for that. There will be another post specifically for the Blog Tour once I work out all the details. Keep an eye out for that as well!

My Weekly Writing Update (39)

Because what's a writing blog without a writing update?

As you have seen, my main focus as of right now is If Only We, a young adult contemporary novel. I am in the process of revising and rewriting this one.

If Only We - current word count total is 58,845
Sent out to beta readers!

I've been working a little bit on some edits based off the notes from a couple beta readers. It's mostly grammatical, but some other things that I needed to clarify in the story. So far, it is going very well! I'm pleased with how much better it's sounding already and I'm only a handful of chapters in. ^_^

Coming up on Monday, I will have a post for bloggers/reviewers to sign up for ARCs of If Only We for reading/reviewing on their blog or Goodreads. So! If you are interested in getting your hands on an ARC, be sure to come back on Monday and sign up. I'm also in the process of coming up with a blog tour/blitz/giveaway in conjunction with release day/week.

Speaking of RELEASE DAY, I have picked a release date. And that day is...

October 27th!

Yay! I'm so excited. It's about time I pick a release date. I just wanted to make sure everything was coming together as planned before I settled on a day. There's still MUCH to do between now and then and I want to be ready. :)

Because what's a writing blog without a writing update?

As you have seen, my main focus as of right now is If Only We, a young adult contemporary novel. I am in the process of revising and rewriting this one.

Read through the notes from two of my betas and they offered some great insight. Not only that, but they fixed several grammatical issues, which is great. Sometimes when you're in the midst of writing, you lose track of proper grammar. Sometimes it's because you forget what you've been taught about grammar. It was a mix of both. In any case, it is bringing me one step closer to publishing. I went through the first chapter and fixed all the easy to change errors, even tweaked a couple sentences for continuity. I'll probably spend some time this weekend going through a few more chapters. I'm hoping to get through a lot of it (if not all) this week actually. That way when I get the notes from my other betas, I can start going through them right away. THEN I CAN PICK A RELEASE DATE. Woot! ^_^

My Weekly Writing Update (37)

As of right now, I have received notes from TWO of my beta readers. I haven't had the chance to look at what they've said yet... because I had to get the software for my PC to read their notes. BUT. The software came yesterday and I'm installing it tonight. Sooooo...... YAY! I am still nervous to see what they think but I know I will be extremely appreciative of all their thoughts on how to make IOW the best it can be. ^_^

When it comes to With One Glance, I have it pulled up on my laptop and I tried to start writing the first chapter the other day before work. I am only a few sentences in... but I wish I had more time to write a little bit more. I have the first few chapters outlined, and I'm working out in my head where the next chapters will go. Trying to figure out the progression I would like to have with the story, and the timing. I still need to figure out what time of the year the story is starting at, so I can plan other things accordingly. That means it's time to draw up a calendar like I did for If Only We!

If Only We has been with the betas for a week and I've been... not really doing anything. Well, working on some new stuff, not writing it, but planning and coming up with ideas for scenes. I've actually suddenly had two novella ideas come to me. One last weekend and one last night. I was in the middle of falling asleep and had to wake myself up to take down some notes. Oh good times. Hopefully there will be some new stuff to tell next week!

The Official First Post About My Work-In-Progress

Now that I have sent If Only We off to my beta readers (*passes out*), I finally have time to plot out and start writing my next novel.

I love to hear in advance a little bit about the projects certain authors are working on. It’s a nice little treat, a teaser, of what is to come, especially if they are one of your favorites. So, I want to do a little bit of sharing for you guys as well.

This one came to me more recently. It was within the first month I started my new job at a different pharmacy. For several years now, I’ve wanted to write a story about a girl who works in a pharmacy. I have worked in pharmacy for more than 8 years now so I have plenty of tales to tell with regard to customers and coworkers. I always thought it would make good satire. Only I wasn’t able to figure out a story line to go along with it. I didn’t want it to be just about some girl working in a pharmacy. I’m all about stories with romance. I can’t write a story without a romantic element in it. But now? I found that romantic element.

And it is perfect.

Since it is still early in the works, I don’t want to give away too much about the details. There are a few things to tell you though. I am going to give you a list of the basics.

1). The title of this story will be With One Glance. I’m actually quite proud of this--#2 will tell you why.
2). With One Glance became the title because of one integral scene that ties the MC with her love interest. It’s that moment where they both realize that there is something more and it changes everything.
3). The genre is New Adult Contemporary.
4). The MC is named Stana and her love interest is named Joel.
5). There’s not only a love story but also a coming-of-age type theme wherein the protagonist is making decisions as an adult for the first time.

And there you have it! A little taste of what is to come. I hope to have a synopsis for With One Glance in the next couple months to share with you. In the meantime, you’ll just have to come by for my weekly updates and see if I share any more little details as I write it.
