My Weekly Writing Update (13)

Because what's a writing blog without a writing update?

As you have seen, my main focus as of right now is If Only We, a young adult contemporary novel. I am in the process of revising and rewriting this one.

If Only We - current word count is 57,556.

Well, last week Saturday I moved into my own apartment. The move itself went just fine, and everything has been slowly starting to come together. It's taking a lot more time than I expected it to, but I believe the main reason for that is because of two things: 1). I work full time, which leaves little free time to accomplish too much, and 2). I have more responsibilities to take care of by myself that are part of a regular routine I didn't have before (dishes, laundry, trash, and the rest). I have several more things to set up and a couple projects to take care of, but I'm hoping by the end of next weekend I'll be relatively on track and mostly set up.

AND THEN! .....I can write again!!! AHHH! I have missed writing like I was before the whole working on moving out slash moving out thing happened. It will be very good for me. I have so much inspiration burning away inside of me that needs to come out. ^_^

Aaannnddd...... nothing. Definitely nothing this week. I've been packing and getting 5 hours of sleep a night and working full shifts. Good times. I am in the final stretch of the move... last minute packing is taking place right now and will continue to tonight. I'm getting the keys this morning and I'll be moving tomorrow!

*is freaking out now*

Not really. Okay, maybe kind of. It's like 50% panic and 50% excitement. I've got SOOO much on my mind as far as what needs to be done once I've moved. I really need to get a couple lists together for changing my address AND household item/grocery shopping. Otherwise I'll just forget something, and I don't want that since I'm going to be back to work on Monday.

Just to let you know, I will be internet-less for a week, so you may not see or hear much from me. Trust me, though, I'll be back in action as soon as I can, and hopefully with some sort of actual WRITING update. See you all soon!!! ^_^

My Weekly Writing Update (11)

Because what's a writing blog without a writing update?

As you have seen, my main focus as of right now is If Only We, a young adult contemporary novel. I am in the process of revising and rewriting this one.

Still no news here. I am getting most anxious to get back to writing though. Did I just say "most anxious"? That's what I get for watching Persuasion a couple days ago. It's been a busy week, not just work and preparations for moving... but I ended up coming down with the flu. It hit me like a ton of bricks and then it was over within 24 hours. Thank goodness! Last thing I needed was to be sick for much longer than that.

In any case, I am hoping to get myself back to normal by the end of this month. I've still been thinking about my stories in the back of my mind and writing down notes here and there, but it's not the same. One thing I have been thinking about is how being away from the story for this long might actually be a very GOOD thing for me. I always hear that you should take a break from your story when you finish it, then come back to it in a couple weeks or more. I believe this to be very wise because I can already envision how much my story will improve when my mind is not tangled up. You know that feeling, when you've been working on the same thing for too long and you just can't focus or make it any better. But anyways. It'll be good for me when I can get back to writing. In the meantime, I'll let the mindless task of packing keep the wheels turning in my mind so that I can come up with great things to write about! ^_^

My Weekly Writing Update (10)

Because what's a writing blog without a writing update?

As you have seen, my main focus as of right now is If Only We, a young adult contemporary novel. I am in the process of revising and rewriting this one.

If Only We - current word count is 57,556.

This is a late post, but, there's a reason.....

How many weeks in a row will there be nothing new? Okay, there's one little thing new. I had this insane urge to write Wednesday night, so I started plotting out my new story idea and came up with some interesting lines for ANOTHER story idea. And I kinda sorta wrote a poem in my journal. Otherwise, nada. But this week... I am going to share with you the reason for all this nonsense...

After a lot of thought (over the last couple months), I have decided that I am going to move out on my own for the first time. It's something I have wanted to do since I became an adult but there was always something that got in the way, whether it was relationships or finances or other circumstances. Last year was a big year of change for me, and near the end I decided I wanted to make some big changes in 2013. I wanted to do more, to be more. My original plan was to move out in the fall of this year but I kept moving the date from October, to July, to May, to March... and so now, it's March and the plans are in motion. I've signed a lease and I'll be moving in less than 2 weeks. It's going to be crazy busy for me and my writing/blogging will probably be lacking, so don't worry when you don't see much of me in the next few weeks. I promise it will all be back to normal in April. ^_^

And the ridiculousness of nothing to report continues. Trust me, though, there is a very good explanation. Once I have a couple of minor details worked out, I will let you guys know what is going on. Don't worry, it's a good thing. ^_^ Crossing my fingers I can let you know next week.

Until then, I hope all my followers have a splendid weekend!
