My Weekly Writing Update (46)

Goal: 15,000+ words

Yeah, I'm kinda behind considering it's getting near the end of the month already. I might be able to write a little bit tonight and tomorrow though to catch up. I've been in training all week for my new job and getting up at 6:30 AM every morning. I literally slept in until 1:00 PM today. I haven't had much motivation all day except to tidy up a little bit around here. Hopefully everything will settle down soon! I have books to finish reading too, I've gotten behind on that as well. I'll have more to tell you guys on the novella next week I'm sure. I'm really excited to finish writing Not Until Tonight and share it with you.

Before I go, I have a couple more things to tell you guys. I have THREE things going on with If Only We right now--two blitz tours coming up and a read to review opportunity on Goodreads. Here are the links and details on both:

My Weekly Writing Update (45)

Kinda sorta forgot to post this yesterday... I blame my scattered brain...

Anyways... Woot! I wrote 1801 words! There are several notes in my phone for new scenes, but I didn't have time to type them up. Hopefully I can get a LITTLE bit further this coming week. I've been a bit distracted this last week with work and having to get up earlier than I'm used to... AND go to bed earlier too which kinda puts a damper on my writing plans because I generally write mostly at night (I blame the second wind I get late at night). I will be making sure to get WAY ahead because I am determined to finish writing the novella hopefully by the end of the month (if not, first or second week in December if things come up). THEN I'll be working on editing it by the end of the month/early January. And MAYBE MAYBE MAYBE, publishing by February. I HOPE I HOPE!!  I really am pushing toward that goal. Once I finish the first draft, I'm going to get the cover made by my lovely friend Marie Landry. You'll probably get to see it middle to late December. I'll have a cover reveal set up by a blog tour company, so if you're interested in being part of that, I will be posting a link as soon as sign ups are available so you can sign up. ^_^

Onto other news... I'm unofficially participating in NaNoWriMo! I would have REALLY participated BUT when November began, my tour was coming to a close and I had TONS to do to finalize that. Plus, I started a new job on Monday (which has been going very well, by the way) and I didn't want to overwhelm myself with too many new things at once. So, I opted to write a novella in November. This way I can sort of participate AND help support all my NaNo writing friends! The novella I'm writing is called Not Until Tonight. I wasn't planning on writing this one next but for some reason it was calling out to me and saying that it needed to be written sooner rather than later. Middle of this month I'm hoping to have a mini synopsis for you to read. I kinda sorta wrote one out but I'm a little iffy on whether it sounds good or not. I'd rather wait until I finish writing the story before I write an OFFICIAL synopsis. I can tell you this though: it is New Adult. So, something completely new to me BUT feels a little bit in my element at the moment with all the NA I've been reading as of late. Don't get me wrong, I love me a good YA, but sometimes it feels nice when the characters are MY age, you know? Anyways, that's that! Keep an eye out for further news. ;)

At the end of the summer after graduation, Adrienne wonders what happened to cause her life to be in ruins. She isn’t getting along with her mom, her stepsister isn’t talking to her, and, to top it off, the boy she’s been in love with doesn’t want anything to do with her. She believes the turning point was a choice she made at graduation. When she wakes up the next day, she has been transported back three months to that moment, the one where everything started to fall apart.

Adrienne realizes she has been given a second chance—and this time she doesn’t want to mess anything up. Reliving the entire summer, though, turns out to be a lot harder than she thought. As the same days and weeks go by, she starts to see how simple decisions can make a huge impact on the world around her. Despite knowing some of what lies ahead, there are some things she didn’t anticipate. She thought she knew what mistake led her to where she ended up the first time. She was wrong.

And by the time summer is over, she discovers what was really at stake.
