My Weekly Writing Update (4)

Because what's a writing blog without a writing update?

As you have seen, my main focus as of right now is If Only We, a young adult contemporary novel. I am in the process of revising and rewriting this one.

If Only We - current word count is 57,556.

AND, if you didn't see my post on Tuesday, I have FINISHED my first full write through! I haven't done much since finishing, aside from writing a couple notes to self as far as fixing issues I know I need to take care of. I am hoping to get started on my final revision before betas this weekend. I should be able to get through this a little bit quicker since everything is written out now. From what I can tell, there shouldn't be too much to change, mostly minor variations and a couple scene changes and add-ons. I CANNOT WAIT to get to this edit! Normally, I wouldn't be so excited, but since I'm *this close* to finishing completely, I want to get it done QUICKLY.

By the way, I'll be writing down my list of betas and cover reveal volunteers this weekend. If you've emailed me about either, I'll be responding to your email this weekend as well. This is actually reminding me that I need to start writing down people for my acknowledgements because I do NOT want to forget a single person who has been helping me along the way. ^_^

So..... I finished the first full write through of my book...

Oh yes.

I would just wait to tell it all on Friday with my writing update, but I thought I would let you know now that I am one big step closer to finishing. It feels good to have it completely written out... even though I still have to do a decent amount of fixing yet before it goes to the betas. I have to add in a couple things and remove a couple things that I thought of while I got further into the book. My If Only We notebook has some little notes jotted down for these things to fix. I should get it out tonight and write down some of the things I've been thinking about since I finished so I can get to work on it straight away... and *crosses fingers* possibly have it ready beginning of February...?

Oh, I hope so!

Speaking of which... I'll be posting a post specifically for this when I have finished the final revisions... but just to let you guys know, I am looking for betas! I have three so far and could use a few more. So, please email me at impulsivities@gmail.com and I will put your name on the list. I'll also be needing a few people for the cover reveal once I get the cover made... so, email me if you're interested in that too!

I'm also close to finishing getting my Facebook page set up. I want to make sure that it has all the pertinent information. Expect a post on that soon too.

My Weekly Writing Update (3)

Because what's a writing blog without a writing update?

As you have seen, my main focus as of right now is If Only We, a young adult contemporary novel. I am in the process of revising and rewriting this one.

If Only We - current word count is 56,728.

............................that's right.

I just pulled off 6675 words in ONE WEEK. Heck to the yes.

I didn't WRITE that many words in one week, I revised most of them from scenes I had already written. I had a horribly difficult time on Wednesday night because I had changed a couple scenes near the beginning and it wasn't meshing with the final scene. So I was like, "WHAT THE CRAP, JESSICA?! WHY DID YOU ADD THAT STUFF TO THE SCENES EARLY ON?! YOU'RE RUINING THE END!!!!"

*ahem*

This weekend is going to be it. *crosses fingers* I hope, I hope! At the very least, by next update. Then I'm going to set it aside for a whole week and not look at it. THEN pick it up again and go through it and do a quick overview to fix problem areas and add in anything else that is necessary. AND THEN...... it will be ready for the betas......

Excuse me while I pass out......

Kidding. I'm surprisingly feeling pretty good about all of it. I'm looking forward to it! It's been such a LOOOOONNNNGGGG road. I can't wait to reach the end of it. ^_^
